Shanahan leaves ice on stretcher
Brendan Shanahan and Mike Knuble had a big-time collision in this afternoon's Rangers-Flyers game, one in which neither player appeared to know the contact was coming, and both spent considerable time on the ice.
Shanahan seemed to get the worst of it, and has a whole group of medical personnel at Madison Square Garden attending to him on the ice at the moment. He's currently being fitted for a neck brace and moved to a stretcher, after which he'll be taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.
Knuble, meanwhile, has one eye swollen shut and may also be taken to hospital.
