Picking playoff performers
I've got my annual playoff pool tonight, an auction-style fantasy draft where you've got $50 to spend and a minimum $5 bid per player. Points are simply goals and assists for skaters, and two points for a win and two more for a shutout for netminders.
Last year, I finished third after taking Shawn Horcoff for $5 with my final pick (I would have won the draft if I'd also taken the undrafted Chris Pronger), proving that there's something to be said for going with the underdogs. Horcoff provided 19 points for the minimum, while someone like Pavel Datsyuk commanded in the $13-15 neighbourhood — which bought his owner three measly points.
All I know is that, tonight, Buffalo Sabres are going to come at a premium, and the Islanders and others will be in the discount bin. My question, then, is who do people think will be this year's most underrated playoff performers?
UPDATE Well, here's the damage:
We'll see how that goes.

UPDATE Well, here's the damage:
- Kariya, Nas - $11
- Arnott, Nas - $8
- Bryzgalov, Ana - $6
- Redden, Ott - $7
- Morrow, Dal - $5
- Nagy, Dal - $7
- Calder, Det - $6
We'll see how that goes.
