Saskin fired
Ted Saskin has been fired as executive director of the National Hockey League Players' Association.
The NHL executive board, which consists of player representatives from each of the 30 teams, voted unanimously Thursday to fire Saskin with cause thereby, it hopes, ending its financial obligations to the former union boss.
