Hype for Ballhype

BallhypeI've been looking around the sports blog networking site Ballhype the past few hours, trying to get a handle on how it all works and if it just might be useful for hockey bloggers.

The hockey section on the site is pretty much a ghost town at the moment, a shame given the site could function as a powerful sorting tool for the top blog items on any given day. In the overall blog rankings, Off Wing Opinion is the highest ranked hockey blog, all the way down in 89th. (Here's a look at the site's ranking of NHL-only blogs.)

Some of the blogosphere heavyweights from other sports, such as The Hardball Times, have already gotten onboard in a big way and it appears to have worked quite well.

Anyway, I added some Ballhype "bling" to the blog here in the hopes that it might catch on, and started up a group on the site where people can sign up and get some sort of a community going.

Bloggers, commenters, lurkers... everyone's invited. The goal's basically to promote the best of what's out there in terms of hockey blog entries, so the more the merrier.
