Florida inches closer to first title
Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with RW Wade Belak.
"Wade is a high character, hard working player and versatile player who immediately made an impact on our team last season," said Martin. "He provides our club with a tremendous physical presence and we look forward to his continued contributions to our team both on and off the ice for the next two years."Give Belak credit: He's stayed in the league, without playing in the minors, for about a decade despite his talent level. In Toronto, he was always well-liked and I think that went a long way to him sticking around here as long as he did.>> team release
Belak's played 442 regular season games over 11 years and has eight goals and 29 points.
