Three cities bid for 2010 Mem Cup
The Western Hockey League today announced that three WHL Clubs have submitted applications to host the 2010 Mastercard Memorial Cup. The WHL Clubs which have submitted bid applications include the Brandon Wheat Kings, Everett Silvertips and Kelowna Rockets.
Everett, meanwhile, is going into its sixth season and has been one of the most successful recent expansion franchises, both on the ice and in getting fans out to games. Of the three teams, the Silvertips also have the biggest building and the best attendance over the past few years, which could go a long way toward winning the bid.
I believe that would be only the fifth time in 90 years the Memorial Cup's been held in the U.S.
The 2009 tournament will be in Rimouski, Quebec, home of Vincent Lecavalier and Sidney Crosby's old club, in May.

I'm hoping for Brandon. I wish more smaller prairie cities could host this thing.
