Richardson re-signs

Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the club re-signed defenceman Luke Richardson to a one-year, two-way contact.

The Ottawa native first signed with the Senators in August 2007, recording two goals, seven assists and 41 penalty minutes in 76 games during the 2007-08 campaign. Richardson recorded his 200th career NHL point with a goal and played in his 1400th career NHL game.

Kudos to Richardson for wanting to keep playing at 39 even if that means ending up in the minors this season. Granted, he's slowed considerably in the past few years, but it makes sense to have a capable veteran available 10 minutes a night and in case of injury.

Haha, now Sleek's whole "Luke Richardson, I am your father" can really work! :P Anyways, it's great to see that Richardson is still devoted to playing hockey.

If he ends up in Bingo even for short stints he will have a positive impact on the players there. This is good insurance for the team.

This just in: Leafs sign Brad Marsh to a two-way in order to keep in step with their rivals to the east.

Yeah, right! Brad Marsh in not leaving Ottawa to The Big Smoke unless kidnapped. He spends more time in Scotiabank Place than anybody from Sens organisation. Ok, it's in the bar which he owns...
