Fun with waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks have claimed defenseman Doug Janik on waivers from the Dallas Stars and have traded him back to the Stars in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
>> team release
Just to mess with him...

UPDATE The Ducks have some wacky maneuvering going on as well, bringing up a goaltender from the AHL in order to free up more cap space. Seriously.

Wow, what's with that? I mean, surely the Hawks could've thought of a better way to acquire a draft pick, and now all they get is a conditional one. Weird...

A better way to get a draft pick?
I'm pretty sure they got this one for free.

Picked up one of Dallas' players on waivers and then gave him back for a draft pick.

I don't understand how the ducks get more cap relief by calling up an extra player??

Don't forget, o tart this whole wacky thing the Stars took him off waivers first ... so it looks like this:

Hawks put Janic on waivers
Stars take Janic from waivers
Stars put Jaic on waivers
Hawks take Janic from waivers
Stars trade conditional draft pick to Hawks for Janic ...
