Remembrance Day links
It's Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the U.S., and there's even one afternoon game starting here in about 10 minutes between the Flyers and Islanders (with Colin Powell in attendance, no less).
The Isles' first-round pick in 2008, Josh Bailey, makes his NHL debut in this one.
Here are a couple Remembrance/Veterans Day-related links:
- War And Hockey History [Joe Pelletier, Greatest Hockey Legends]
- Examining A Wartime Habs Myth [Eyes on the Prize]
- Remember [Black Dog Hates Skunks]
- Lest We Forget [Pension Plan Puppets]
- Remembering What Matters On Veterans Day [Japers' Rink]
I'll add more as I see them.

Black Dog Hates Skunks
Had a really nice one, I thought. Not hockey related though except that it’s generally a hockey blog.

A bit late...
I was a bit late getting something up today. If you have a chance to link to it, that would be great.

the colin powell link is old?
Carolina at Islanders, Today at 2:05 pm: Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to host Fellows from the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies at CCNY and take part in ceremonial opening faceoff on Martin Luther King Day
Flyers not Carolina, and Veteran’s Day, not MLK Jr. Day.

Terrific idea, and well done. You should continue it, though, with other ’’holidays’’ such as Halloween, Christmas and Easter. There have to be hockey books out there that would relate to those, too.
