NHL investigates ballot stuffing

The NHL is investigating a suspicious spike in votes for Montreal Canadiens players in all-star fan balloting.

Fans choose the starting lineups for the all-star game by voting at NHL.com, and all six Canadiens on the ballot have huge leads in balloting for the Eastern Conference team.

Here's a look at where voting stands right now. The Canadiens players still have incredible leads, and I honestly don't think it's all attributable to auto-voting.

The NHL may disagree.

"I don't want to jump to conclusions at this point. There is some indication that something has happened," said NHL spokesman Gary Meaghar. "I'm not at a point where I can say definitively that something has taken place."

obviously not all

obviously not all the votes are auto-voted, but the vast majority.

When it is this easy to setup a script and auto-vote, why not:

I just can’t believe the NHL wasn’t expecting this. I figured they knew it would happen and were planning on it. It would have been fun to say that the starting goalie received 21,450,304 votes.

Sounds like they’re waiting for Bettman to get out the Jump to Conclusions Mat.

You’re not going to like it when Leafs fans get Grabovski in the lineup….

No problem with it, as long as I have the same chance to get Teppo Numminen or Patrick Kaleta in. ;)
