Vrbata with 40 goals this season? Lofty expectations.

Maybe it is
time for Lecavalier to be once again stripped of the C. Good interview.

Quite interesting. Melrose can surely talk. I’m sure he could coach again if you give him a decent team. oldest team in the NHL, of course…upi trade all your young guys and sign used up players.
Too bad for Melrose but i’m happy this happens in Tampa bay.

It’s an older team because the previous management didn’t provide NHL quality young talent for the current guys. It’s either sign older guys who are on the downside or play young guys that haven’t really established themselves as professional players at all.
Melrose believes Stamkos isn’t ready, and there’s no reason to believe he couldn’t do well based on where he was as a junior and how successful junior players have been as teenagers.
We don’t know who the player was who led the rebellion or what have you, whether it was Vinny or not. I don’t think this reflects on Lecavalier’s leadership abilities at all.
Hockey blogging can't get any flatter.

I like...
…how he skirted the question of not having a system by saying that they had no offense. Tells everything one needs to know about Melrose’ suitablity to coach in the NHL right there.
