Luongo week-to-week

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced today after further consultation with team doctors that goaltender Roberto Luongo has an Adductor Strain (groin) and his return status is week-to-week.

Luongo was injured in the first period on Saturday, November 22nd at the Canucks/Pittsburgh game.

Week-to-week is a bizarre diagnosis, one that makes me suspect the real answer as to how long Luongo will be out is "unknown." Groin injuries are tough for goalies.

I suspect Vancouver goes into 2009 without him.

It's bad...

…when your goalie has the same ‘week to week’ status as Tim Connolly.

Let’s hope that it’s not the same kind of week-to-week injury that another Canucks No. 1 goalie had, which turned out to be a season-ending one that ended his time in Vancouver.
