This was released in the middle of the night on Saturday, 11:30 p.m. Calgary time (an hour ago), and so far there aren't many details. Ryder, the younger brother of the Bruins' Michael Ryder, was demoted to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL about two weeks ago and has apparently run into some trouble in Sin City.
The younger Ryder quit hockey altogether six games into the beginning of his pro career last year, and his comeback this season hasn't been all that overwhelming to date (he registered three goals and nine points in 19 games in the AHL before his recent demotion).
The story on this one will come out by Monday once the Flames media gets a handle on the reason behind the suspension. It'll be interesting to see if he ever manages to have a pro career after this.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have inquired about his ability to play running back.
