Cujo nets win No. 450
To say Curtis Joseph has had a disappointing season is a bit of an understatement. Coming into tonight's game against Atlanta, he'd appeared in eight games, posted an 0-4-1 record, a 4.12 goals against average and a .843 save percentage.
And he'd been waiting for win No. 450 on his career all season, a milestone he finally reached in a 4-3 overtime victory at the ACC. He stays in fourth all-time in the category:
| Rk | Player | W |
| 1 | Patrick Roy* | 551 |
| 2 | Martin Brodeur | 544 |
| 3 | Ed Belfour | 484 |
| 4 | Curtis Joseph | 450 |
| 5 | Terry Sawchuk* | 447 |
| 6 | Jacques Plante* | 437 |
| 7 | Tony Esposito* | 423 |
| 8 | Glenn Hall* | 407 |
| 9 | Grant Fuhr* | 403 |
| 10 | Dominik Hasek | 389 |
*- Hall of Famer

HoF?
So does CuJo warrant Hall induction? Brodeur, yes. Hasek, yes. Belfour, probably. But Joseph?

Cujo does not make the hall of fame
I think that Cujo will be the Bert Bylven of hockey.
His lack of hardware, stanley cups and big playoff wins.
Hurt his chances immensely.
However once Belfour, Brodueur and Hasek get in. The next one up will be Osgood and Vernon. Both won’t make it. So I fear that Cujo might be one of those guys who gets in from the Vet Committee. With Kipper, Lundquist and Loungo still to settle out their careers Cijo’s 450 wins might old up or they might get eclipsed.

Yes CuJo Is a Hall of Famer when he retires
I think CuJo goes in 450+ wins is just too many not to warrant it. Both he and Belfour will make it both because of the length of their careers and who they are bracketed by, IMHO.

But is 450 wins enough
with more games, more teams playing, goalies playing longer, and more wins available to goalies.
is 450 mean the same as it used to?
I say no, but if you let Cujo in you have to let Osgood in, and then maybe Vernon.
I think it is a slippery slope. I would hold Cujo back and see what transpires with Kipper,
Lunquist, Gigure, Nabokov etc…. If they blow by 450, and get 550 it changes the goalie standards. I like Cujo, even when he played for the leafs. But the HHOF is for the greatest and best. Not the good and nicest.

If HHOF was for the greatest
…then Tom Barrasso would be in it before Vernon.
