A fantasy pool update
There's been some shifting in the standings lately as we head into Week 15 of the Hockey Blogger Invitational, but no one can catch Tha Gnomes of Five Hole Fanatics fame.
My guess is Kent has a first-round playoff bye already locked up:
| Rank | Team | W-L-T | Pct | Pts |
| 1 | Tha Gnomes | 111-54-17 | 0.657 | 239 |
| 2 | The Fab Forecheckers | 95-62-25 | 0.591 | 215 |
| 3 | Mirtle's Merry Men | 94-67-21 | 0.574 | 209 |
| 4 | Islanders Army | 93-68-21 | 0.569 | 207 |
| 5 | The Petes | 90-67-25 | 0.563 | 205 |
| 6 | Sharkspage | 91-71-20 | 0.555 | 202 |
| 7 | Matt of the Battle | 87-74-21 | 0.536 | 195 |
| 8 | JapersRink All-Bums | 87-79-16 | 0.522 | 190 |
| 9 | Sleek's Battlebots | 85-77-20 | 0.522 | 190 |
| 10 | The Alcoholic Army | 86-79-17 | 0.519 | 189 |
| 11 | Spector's Spudheads | 78-76-28 | 0.505 | 184 |
| 12 | Covered in Chris |
74-86-22 | 0.467 | 170 |
| 13 | Kings of Men | 69-93-20 | 0.434 | 158 |
| 14 | Denomme's Danglers | 65-92-25 | 0.426 | 155 |
| 15 | Pension Plan Puppets | 63-101-18 | 0.396 | 144 |
| 16 | Puck Daddy | 60-98-24 | 0.396 | 144 |
| 17 | Sasquatch Watchers | 61-102-19 | 0.387 | 141 |
| 18 | Mighty Mallards | 60-103-19 | 0.382 | 139 |
I'm plugging along despite having both (!) Senators goalies this season. Ty Conklin's been a life saver, I tell you, but I need Carey Price back from injury.
Kent's team is cleaning up in part due to his savvy pickup of Steve Mason when he was recalled from the minors. His top scorers lately have been Alex Semin, Todd Bertuzzi, Dustin Byfuglien, Andrei Kostitsyn and Eric Staal.
The Forechecker's always tough in this pool, too. He ended up with Ovechkin, the top-ranked fantasy player in the league, and also has Rob Blake, Alex Kovalev and the Panthers tandem in goal.

I’m impressed that I’ve been able to stay above .500 despite losing Luongo and Leclaire (the latter both to injury and ineffectiveness).
My Gs right now are Jonathan Quick and Karri Ramo, for cryin’ out loud!

Actually, I just picked up Kostitsyn in a trade, so he hasn’t played a game for me yet. Perry and Bertuzzi were out for part of the week last week too.
I’ve gotten good value from late picks thus far: M. Koivu, Semin, Miettinen, Byfuglien, etc. Im pretty much carried by good goaltending, though, and I completely lucked out with the Mason pick-up.

They’re still trying to talk Brian Burke into taking over the team.

BWAHAHAHAHA
JFJ got ahold of my login and changed the password.
I can’t believe that I am ahead of 3 teams. I have been very delinquent in updating my roster and Jose Theodore is my only goalie.

They’re facing relegation to the B Pool, too.

I think you mean that PPP will be drafting John Tavares.

I’m not a part of the PPP fantasy hockey team, blame PPP.

No one wants to read about how I’m beating you goofs. :-)

Honestly, I think my team would be higher in the standings if I didn’t do a single Add/Drop all year. Next year I’m doing the live draft and then going into a voluntary fantasy coma.

What about your hockey Yahoo pools James? Do you fare well?

This is a Yahoo pool. There are three: The Blogger Invitational and then two Open Invitationals, the B and C Pools.
I’m in 3rd, 1st and 2nd out of 18, 20 and 20 teams.

I can’t deny that I took some gambles that didn’t work out.
Also, I had to leave halfway through the draft to get to BMO Field.

I’m poised to make run in the second half … As long as Petr Budaj leads the Avalanche to glory instead of Andrew Raycroft.
