Escrow going to 22.5 per cent, NHLPA says
There have been a variety of reported figures out there for where the escrow figure will sit for the third quarter of the season, but NHLPA executive director Paul Kelly was on The Fan 590 radio station here in Toronto and said the amount would be 22.5 per cent.
This audio of the interview is available here.
There had been various other figures reported, from 20 to 25 per cent, but Kelly was very specific about the 22.5 per cent figure. He also said that there will be a revenue shortfall of about $215- to $250-million based on what players are receiving, and that he felt overall revenues would be around 1 per cent higher than last season's $2.6-billion.

The escrow amount indicates
that the NHLPA is preparing for a decline in revenue this season against last season. Or they can be overly conservative to ensure that the players always get some refund.
