Based on the actions that have been taken to date with respect to my employment, including the ongoing surveillance of my activities at the office and the reduction of my role through the circulation of false information, it is my view that I have been constructively dismissed by the union. However, what is more important to me is that it has simply become impossible to work for the Players in the environment that has been created. It is also unfair to the hard-working, dedicated staff of the NHLPA to have my untenable situation negatively impact them in any way.

I wouldn't want to punish him like that!
Give him a job that fits his talents – make him in charge of the media stuff for the league or something, so they stop the stupid commercials asinine team slogans and realize how to properly use the web and not look at the “computer internet machine” with a befuddled Luddite stare.
Besides, he knows how many female fans there are reading his blog and writing their own, so he might be able to push for getting rid of all that pink crap that looks cute on eight-year-olds, but not on adults who might like to wear the team colors instead of pink or baby blue.

I also know that there are an alarming number of fans who like the pink crap.

I know – and it makes me ashamed to share a chromosomal makeup with them. :(

And then there’s walkinvisible, who’s been pestering the League and the Flames to make girl-cut jerseys for years. (And good on her for doing so; I never got the point of the pink, except to marginalize female fans.)

“A befuddled luddite stare”?
That seems to be a fairly ridiculous statement, even assuming that it is overstated because it makes a snappier sentence (and, admittedly, it does). The NHL is by all accounts going great guns on the internet, ahead of all the other major spectator sports in North America. The statement also assumes that it is a no-brainer as to how to exploit the internet for money, which is hardly the case.

Not true. MLB is far ahead of everyone else. Among other things, when I pay to stream a game, it works. The same can’t always be said for the NHL. Getting that to work would be a good place to start.

I would be happy if their shop were easier to navigate. Bar none, it is the most poorly designed shopping site I have ever dealt with. If I shop on the MLB site, I have a much easier time finding exactly what I want, getting the size and fabric information, getting prices and shipping – the categories on the NHL site are too broad for ease of finding what I am looking for.
The site also hangs up frequently for me and a few of my friends – which is something it has in common with the ESPN website, too. Although at least I haven’t picked up multiple viruses from the NHL as I have from ESPN, so that is a plus. I don’t think it is a browser issue, as we all use different browsers and have different computers. It might be a provider issue, but why would NHL.com have problems and MLB.com not have them on the same computer?
The NHL gamestreaming is also quite expensive for what it provides, and the blackout rules are a major irritant (although I realize that is far from just an NHL problem, but it might be worse with the NHL because of the limited availability on television of some of the games in areas where they are supposed to be available).

I like how Penny, hypocrite that he is, complains about how it is impossible to work in an environment that he himself played a large role in creating.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
