SB Nation partners with Yahoo!

Today we want to welcome some new members to our flourishing communities. SB Nation and our friends at Yahoo are partnering to give Yahoo Sports audiences one click access to our sites and content. In addition to being the largest sport property on the web, Yahoo Sports is known for some of the best general sports blogs including: Ball Don’t Lie, Puck Daddy, Dr. Saturday, Big League Stew and others.
Relevant pages of Yahoo Sports will now feature contextual links to specific SB Nation communities. Many other pages of Yahoo Sports will feature SB Nation content and links. The great news is that more sports fans will be introduced to SB Nation sites.
It's a very, very busy time here behind the scenes at SB Nation. Not only did we launch a trade deadline hub for next Wednesday's festivities, but last night, all of the team blogs' content began to be syndicated on their corresponding Yahoo pages.
Five For Howling, for example, is getting some nice exposure on the Coyotes site right under the news wire feed. In the near future, SBN blogs are going to show up on Yahoo scoreboards and elsewhere.
SBN Hockey has expanded a ton in the four months since I joined up, but there are still a few openings and we'd welcome an experienced blogger(s) who want to fill one of the remaining teams. Some of our existing sites are also open to adding additional contributers, so feel free to contact those bloggers.

This is fantastic
Great exposure for you guys, I already use Y! for most of my base sports coverage anyway, so it’ll just make my life easier.

How is that possible?
How do you not have an Oiler blogger lined up, James? I thought every literate Oiler fan had a blog (which admittedly, isn’t a high ratio of fans)!
Hockey blogging can't get any flatter.

That would be fantastic. I’m not even an Oilers fan, but I frequent that site just for the discussion.
He’s been having some issues with blogger lately, too, and a couple of his posts have vanished into the aether, so he might be interested in moving to a new home.

Or get that one guy (I think it was from BoA) that was kicked out of the Oil press box and quit blogging.
I’m sure SB Nation could make it worth his while.

Dave Berry of Covered in Oil. I doubt he’d take it, but it’d be, well, interesting.
I’d volunteer, but a) I don’t have the cred, and b) I don’t have the time. But I do have a site, like every other Oilers fan on the Internet.

They need to have a blog. Rick Nash is too awesome not to be blogged here.
Как же так может быть?

Good Solution
“Brian Burke” thought so too.

I’m surprised nobody has stepped up for the Rangers…all the drama that team has, they gotta be represented on SBN.

ranger fan blogs
there are 8098090234 ranger fan blogs…and 99% of them are horrible. Scotty Hockey has his moments, and Hockey Rodent gets a lot of press (he’s connected to Fox Sports, i think). I think Rodent’’s writing is horrible, actually. [He spends more time trying to shoehorn his pet jokes into his posts]. But his stats are good.
http://www.rangerramblings.com/ is a pretty good one though. Anthony is a long-time Rangers fan who knows his stuff and writes well. Its too bad he doesnt update more. And http://www.myblueshirtheaven.com/ is good too. Again smart, long-time fan who knows her stuff. Been on the net for years, and its updated regularly.

I would suspect their goal is as much to fill the gaps in their coverage as it is to ensure that the coverage they provide is of a quality they can stand behind. I think it’s pretty much a given that any joe blow can’t just come off the street, say he’ll write about the Blue Jackets and get a blog with SB Nation.
In a similar vein, it’s possible that some of the writers approached for the larger teams like New York and Edmonton decided that partnering with SB Nation might not be in their best interest and they would prefer to operate independently and seperate.
Just speculation in both fronts on my part, but it makes sense to me that’s that how they could be doing things.

As long as
95% of the yahoo commenter can still be banned by the blog proprietors, I think this is a good idea.

But only because this is the first photo that comes up in a google image search of “Greg Wyshynski”:
