Leafs deal Antropov to Rangers

Toronto has just acquired a second-round pick and another conditional pick in exchange for Nik Antropov, a rental player who's now the property of the Rangers.

I'm not sure what New York wants with another winger given their holes on defence, but Antropov is a good option as a depth scorer and on the power play. He's certainly not fleet of foot but can put the puck in the net.

UPDATE The Rangers have since shipped out three players for defencemen Derek Morris, so see that post for more on the cap implications and what New York has done today.

Salary Cap

I am no math major and I know Avery, Nik and Morris are all coming at greatly reduced
salary for the end of the year but are the Rangers not past the cap with this move or are there some cuts to come from the blue shirts
