Ranking the 2009 trade deadline

Every year, there's some panic about noon that nothing's going to happen. Then it's a mad dash to the finish and tons of trades come pouring in after 3 p.m.

At the end of the day, this year was a fairly busy one:

I count 25 UFAs traded, including earlier trades (Schneider/Begin etc) which is very comparable to each of the last three years.

the quantity is sure there. quality? meh. I was going to count how many of the players moved have been on waivers in the last couple of years, but I’m too lazy

Hyphens cause writers more trouble than any other form of punctuation, except perhaps commas.
