Round 3 schedule released
Here are the dates and times. Unfortunately, there are quite a few two-day breaks, and the third round will stretch into early June if either series goes seven games. It'll make for a very late Stanley Cup final this year (the latest the playoffs can end this year is June 15):

so wait a minute
if the ECF goes to game 7, the last game is June 2. That leaves 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 of June to play the SCF. They probably won’t make someone play a back to back onto June 3, for a variety of reasons. That leaves 12 days in which to fit possibly 7 games into the SCF? But the Eastern Conference gets 3 full days of rest to start the ECF, and the West gets 2 days? That’s retarded.

that’s a lot of two-day breaks. And you cant even blame it on NBC this time – they couldnt have gotten a Pitts/Canes game on the 2nd weekend? I wonder if the arenas had problems, cause theres zero other reason to spread these games out so much.

I believe there are scheduling conflicts at the arenas — I think Mellon has a few concerts going on there which are spacing out the dates, and didn’t allow the weekend scheduling to work.
I’m willing to bet that, with these economic times, arenas are now more likely to move around the schedules of their teams to accommodate concerts and other events to get more revenue. They see this as an opportunity for more cash, because the games will be played in their arenas regardless of the delay between them.

From a quick search, according to Ticketmaster – Mellon has Bruce Springsteen on the 19th, nothing on any of the other off days. RBC Center has nothing listed on any of the offdays. Live Nation has nothing scheduled for any of the off days at either arena.

I think you'll get your wish -- I wasn't before but I'm a Chicago-believer now...
It took the Wings seven games to beat the Ducks (and that Cleary goal was to say the least “iffy” so it probably should have gone to the “who knows” territory of OT), and they just barely did that. The Hawks will just speed and desire them to death. The Wings are a tired team with lots of talent and experience and, I think, an injured Pavel Datsyuk. The Hawks are a rested young team with speed and talent to burn — and are they ever on a roll. Never underestimate momentum, and always choose the team that just won’t quit. Go Hawks! As for the other series, Crosby just isn’t going to be denied and the clock will strike midnight on the Cinderella ’Canes. So there you go: Pens vs Hawks. Enjoy, Afino.
