Why did you suddenly decide to depart for the KHL?

"The main reason might be because the level of hockey in Russia has noticeably increased in the past several years. Unfortunately, being overseas, I was rarely able to watch any KHL regular season games, but you better believe I always kept up with what was going on. The Continental league which was formed a year ago has done a lot, the game conditions in Russia are good, and it's no coincidence that a lot of well-known players have come from overseas, several of which had leading roles in the NHL. This motivated me to return to Russia."

Every time someone departs for the KHL, I think: Jiri Fischer or Alexei Cherepanov? Who would you rather be?

Isn’t that Slava Kozlov?

Or both?

Both, I guess.

Slava Kozlov: 23/40 career – the most SOG in NHL history.
Viktor Kozlov: 17/37 career – tied for 4th most

The amazing thing about that quote

Is that when Kozlov said it, you couldn’t even see Alexander Medvedev’s lips moving.

More fun than a stick to the face!

Wait.

Kozlov bothered to think and actually make an effort to give a full answer? I’m impressed.

The speed at which...

V. Kozlov signed in the KHL probably can be attributed to X things:
1) What Caps Management said or did not say in his exit interview…
2) His age and the minimal interest his agent probably felt from other NHL teams….
3) $$$$ (could easily have been #1) dangled in front of him
4) The idea of finishing his career “at home” and possibly helping grow/improve the KHL game…

I’m a Caps STH and fan – I wish him well. We needed the salary cap space and the room on the roster to make some upgrades….

Good luck Viktor, LETS GO CAPS!!!!
