Leafs sign Orr; Rangers add Brashear
Colton Orr is a Maple Leaf, and for a long time. It's a four-year deal for $4-million, incredible figures for a guy who really can't play more than a fourth-line role. (He's no George Parros.)
Don't like this one.
UPDATE And now the Rangers have signed Donald Brashear for $1.4-million a season for two years.

He’s Brian Burke type of player, whatever that means… It looks like Burke wants to emulate the Cup-winning Ducks, but without the raw talent of Getzlaf and Perry.

Can see the 1 milion, but 4 years??? Its not like a guy like Orr couldn’t be replaced in a season if he doesn’t fit in.

Sure
But it’s also not like a million a year isn’t easy to get rid of either through the minors, trade, or buyout (although hopefully not).
A million a year isn’t much more than the minimum salary, and for a premier heavyweight why not?

I wonder if this is what Down Goes Brown had in mind.
Rangers, Royals, Raiders, Knicks...the man loves a winner.

Paying this much for Orr is idiotic. But not as idiotic as giving 1.4 M per to Donald Brashaer.
Nice work, Slats!

Orr out, Brash in. Did Slats look at the picture above and go ‘hey, there’s an idea’.
I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

Maguire going on and on about Orr’s defensive abilities being improved by Renney’s coaching. Don’t I see a -15 in his stats line?

not only that
you see a -15 in 7 minutes a game against the other team’s 4th line.
