Blues sign Conklin

Ty Conklin inks a two-year, $2.6-million deal in St. Louis to work in tandem with Chris Mason. Another excellent goaltending signing.

The Blues had some issues with their backup last season with Manny Legace being demoted midway through the season, and Conklin should stabilize the team's netminding and give them someone who can step up should Mason falter.

It's also a very reasonable contract for a goalie that won 25 games last season.

"By signing Ty, we have deepened our goaltending position," said team president John Davidson. "Ty had a solid year last season and along with the job Chris (Mason) did for us, we look forward to having two solid goaltenders next season."

I like this signing...

Having Conklin should allow more time for Ben Bishop and Jake Allen to develop (I hope!)
