I was almost disappointed

not to be on the list, but then I remembered that “it’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool…”

Just kidding. Actually it’s a little impressive that your most frequent commenters are also among the least foolish.

I've been looking at the sky

ha ha! my first thought at seeing those numbers was “are they commenting while working?” (gets back to work myself)

Oh, absolutely. I’d say my “comments at work” to “comments on non-work hours” ration is about 10:1.

by Afino on Jan 6, 2010 1:31 PM CST up reply actions

Ditto. Have to do something while waiting for the data collection to finish, right?

What’s the fun of goofing off and talking about hockey if its not in lieu of work?

Wow a tie for first!

You should send them to a shootout.

First one to comment in this post wins.

It should be best out of the next 3 posts. Don’t forget about the integrity of the commenting that we have to keep here.

I’m shocked that I’m at the top. Seriously. I have more time on my hands than I thought, I guess.

Time to play more video games.

Well, the alternative for you would be to talk about the Oilers. Don’t blame you for commenting so much here! ;)

by Resolute on Jan 6, 2010 1:50 PM CST up reply actions

I still do. I just mostly talk about how I don’t watch the Oilers anymore.

Funny that you did this

Because I was trying to figure this out myself last week.

by Afino on Jan 6, 2010 1:30 PM CST reply actions

Does this mean Afino gets to cover the WJC’s next year in Buffalo for Puck Daddy, followed by Doogie2K in 2012?

I’m turning down my early-bird offer because I can’t afford the $2,100 it would cost to get them now. :(

Do it on the payment plan. Two years to pay, it comes out to about $50 a month.

by Resolute on Jan 7, 2010 5:25 PM CST up reply actions

Well, the larger problem is that we’re socking money away because my mom’s going to be off work for 3-4 months donating a kidney. Gotta pay bills.

we really need the stats for PPP.
Also, James, who’s the top commentor for all sites? Or do you not have that data?

I’m guessing each site received that info and it’s up to them if they wish to share it. Tho I’m curious too. Not sure if I want to be in the top list on the two sites I hang out at or not.

I got them but they didn’t factor in game threads so I am waiting for that before posting them.

you and Doogie are going to a shootout. But one will still get a loser comment.

Damn, Jibble is your most prolific commentor from the Bay Area. How about most prolific one word commentors?

Baroque, I once ordered a #77 jersey from a small store in college and the name they printed on the back was BAROQUE. Even after I got it corrected, people would stop me while I was wearing it and ask me who Baroque was. “Best defenseman in hockey.”

wow

I’d get carpal tunnel – plus the only way I would be able to type that many comments would be by splitting each paragraph into separate phrases and count each one as a separate comment. Plus I would have to be trying to burn off nervous energy from amounts of caffeine that might be illegal in a few of the more conservative states.

Why not. Terry Jones has made a living out of doing just that with the Edmonton Sun, going on 30 years now.
