SBN Gameday: Keep the Car Running
Every weekday, FTR will look at the day's games with a preview blurbs from around the SBN hockey network.
Tonight's soundtrack: Keep the Car Running by Arcade Fire -- because Vancouver and Ottawa want to keep that momentum going as they go head to head tonight.
Game of the Night
Vancouver at Ottawa, 7:30 PM EST
Ottawa wants to make it eleven straight wins. Vancouver wants to resume their winning ways after a bump in the road -- especially considering their super long road trip.
Dallas at Columbus, 7 PM EST
Claude Noel takes over in Columbus as the Jackets look forward. Instead of a coaching change, the shadow of an ownership change looms over the Dallas Stars.
Washington at NY Rangers, 7 PM EST
Who can stop the Washington Capitals and their mighty rolling machine? Not Aaron Voros and Donald Brashear, who should be shown the door.
Montreal at Boston, 7 PM EST
It's a rivalry tonight, but more importantly, the Bruins need to snap an 8-game skid. They shouldn't get too distracted by this collection of Habs Girls (safe for work, as in there's nothing too gratuitous beyond Maxim level of risque...but better to read it away from the office).
NY Islanders at Tampa Bay, 7:30 PM EST
Jeff Tambellini has an opportunity to make a statement to Isles management while the Lightning see this game as the first of four where they can solidify their playoff hopes.
Colorado at Nashville, 8 PM EST
Colorado's nameless coaching staff is part of their trifecta of success. The Preds are looking to the stretch drive and they want a wing to play with Arnott, Legwand, and Goc.
Edmonton at Minnesota, 8 PM EST
What are the chances of Ilya Kovalchuk arriving in Minnesota? Depends on a certain blogger's accuracy. Oilers fans can consider Ryan Potulny as the hero of the minute.
San Jose at St. Louis, 8 PM EST
The Sharks hit the road without Marc-Edouard Vlasic. St. Louis is still looking at that eighth spot and a win over Chicago provides some optimism.
Anaheim at Los Angeles, 10:30 PM EST
Ducks fans take a break to remember Jean-Sebastian Giguere (part 1). Don't get too weepy, though, as there's a big game against the Kings tonight.
